Tumour_Models_Boston_16_Stand_james_isobel.jpgRecently the Ximbio Team travelled to Boston, MA. to attend the 4th annual Tumor Models conference between the 19th and 21st of July.                               The US event, which has a sister meeting in the UK in December, welcomed over 100 delegates from across the world. Attendees were present from a wide range of pharma, biotech and academic institutions, some travelling from as far away as Taiwan. Many of the people present were specialists in oncology and world leaders in PDX models.

The main theme of the conference focused on using a combination of in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo models, including humanised mice, to enhance preclinical data, accelerate the understanding of drug candidates in order to reduce the gap between translation medicine.

As part of Ximbio’s continuing mission to share excellent research tools around the world and expand our growing brand awareness across North America, we manned our exhibition booth alongside many other global biotech companies and contract research organisations.

During the afternoon poster session we engaged with many presenting authors whose laboratory’s were producing research tools. We know that this direct contact with inventors enables us to fully explain Ximbio’s potential to distribute their own tools to other scientists and companies in the market.

At Ximbio we are always looking to the future of research tools and with that in mind the team attended an exciting and thought provoking round table discussion with academics, industry leaders and biotech entrepreneurs on the use and future potential of organoids.

From the 50+ companies and institutes represented at the meeting, we met people from Aspyrian therapeutics, Crown Bio, Charles River, Pfizer, Novartis, Envigo++++, to the National institute of Cancer Research in Taiwan, continually reaching out and advertising the services we provide.
